The Level 3 Award in Awareness of Dementia has been developed in partnership with Skills

for Care and Development.

The qualification forms part of a suite of qualifications in dementia care that have been

developed to support government strategies to increase knowledge, understanding and

skills of caring for people living with dementia.

"The trainer Liz, has an energetic and enthusiastic manner, giving clear evidence of her desire to educate people in their understanding of Dementia, assist those who have dementia to enjoy life, and aid carers enabling them to give their best."

The qualifications support the changing needs within the sector and are part of the Workforce Development Plan established through the National Dementia Strategy Project (England) 2009. Development of dementia awareness and understanding will enhance the level of care provided to people living with dementia.
